What is PXLS?
PXLS is a frontend engineering consultancy based in Ghent, Belgium, founded in 2012 by Nathan Van Gierdegom. We embed with existing teams as lead frontend engineers to rescue struggling codebases, modernize React, Vue, and Next.js architectures, run technical audits, and provide fractional frontend leadership. We work with companies across Belgium and the rest of Europe.
Who does PXLS work with?
We work with Engineering Managers, CTOs, and VPs of Engineering at companies where the frontend has become the bottleneck: deploys that take meetings, features that take a quarter, and a team that knows what good looks like but cannot get there with current resources. Past clients include TVH Parts, Agfa Gevaert, Lynx Beleggen, Showpad, and Bricsys.
How is PXLS different from an agency or a staffing firm?
We send lead engineers, not a bench. Every PXLS engineer has over a decade of experience and has led teams, so you are not paying senior rates for someone who needs supervision. We work inside your codebase and your process rather than taking a project away and returning with a deliverable. We do also help companies hire, and we will put forward an engineer we have worked with when that is what you need, but only ever someone we have assessed ourselves. The aim is to leave your team able to carry the work without us.
What results has PXLS delivered?
At TVH Parts we cut page load times by 87% and user interaction times by 75% across a €1.2 billion e-commerce platform, and unified 20+ engineers under a single technical direction. At Agfa Gevaert we eliminated €20k a year in component library licensing and built a team that now ships ten applications independently. At Lynx Beleggen the rebuilt trading platform launched with three bug reports.
